This is a 66 year old woman who was bothered by the sagging of her mid-face area (the area of the face between the eyes and the corners of th mouth). The traditional approach to address the aging mid-face was through a lifting and tightening procedure, the mid-facelift. During her consultation, Evans and Augusta, GA - based Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Achih H. Chen, demonstrated to her that it is the loss of volume of the mid-face that causes the sagging, aged appearance. The youthful mid-face has a natural volume. As a result, restoring lost volume creates a much more natural rejuvenation of the mid-face than the mid-facelift (see red arrows in Views 1 and 2), which tends to widen and flatten the mid-face.
