DR. ACHIH H. CHEN'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY AND ADVANCEMENTS

Dr. Achih H. Chen's contributions to facial plastic surgery--Dr. Achih H. Chen, beyond being an award-winning facial plastic surgeon, is also an innovator and an educator. Dr. Chen feels strongly that amongst his obligations is the goal to help train the next generation of facial plastic surgeons and to contribute to advances in the field of cosmetic facial plastic surgery.

 

DR. ACHIH H. CHEN'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY:

►Task Force for New Materials for the American Board of Medical Specialties, American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, 2010 - 2012

Dr. Achih H. Chen is amongst a select group of physicians chosen to help develop new written examination questions for the American Board of Medical Specialties, American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Chen's role is to help develop new facial plastic surgery examination questions.

 

►Editorial Board, Annals of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology, 2008 - Present

Dr. Achih H. Chen is amongst a select group of physicians chosen to be a member of the editorial board that reviews the suitability of new studies and techniques for pubication in the medical journal Annals of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology. This review process is very rigorous in that manuscripts submitted by physician scientists are reviewed for scientific merit, originality, and medical applicatibility for publication. Only manuscripts which receive positive reviews from the editor and editorial board are published.

 

►Director, Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Medical College of Georgia

 In addition to patient care, Dr. Achih H. Chen, in his capacity as Director of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, is entrusted to help train some of the brightest surgeons of the next generation. In addition, he is also involved in medical student education to help train future physicians about the care of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery patients.

 

►Director of Otolaryngology Facial Trauma, Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Medical College of Georgia

Dr. Achih H. Chen, in his capacity as Director of Otolaryngology Facial Trauma, treats individuals who have been affected by accidents or events that have resulted in facial trauma. In addition, Dr. Chen helps train both future facial plastic surgeons and future otolaryngology surgeons about advanced techniques in caring for facial trauma patients.
